YOGA, AS A LIFESTYLE!
Yoga is an immeasurable collection of ancient spiritual techniques and methods developed and perfected over the centuries by philosophers and mystics in India. The Sanskrit term “Yoga” frequently is translated as “yoke” or “union”, the ultimate goal of practicing yoga is to create a union of the body, the mind and the spirit; the Yoga practitioner can achieve higher states of awareness and enlightenment. The basic principles of the Yoga practice include proper Asanas (poses), Pranayama (breathing), relaxation, diet, positive thinking and meditation.
The various poses used while practising yoga are known as Asanas and have been developed to exercise every part of your body, some yoga sessions involve meditation by means of using a mantra (a word, phrase or sound) which is repeated in silence or aloud. No special Yoga equipment is needed to practice but it’s recommended to purchase a Yoga mat, which sticks to the floor better then a Yoga blanket. While practising yoga it is a good idea to wear loose fitting, cotton clothing without socks. All you have to do then is relax, switch off and stretch.

What is normally thought as Yoga in the West is really Hatha Yoga; Hatha yoga focuses primarily on the Asanas (poses) as exercise and Pranayama (respiration exercises).
